Brand guidelines

The essentials for everyone
creating for Nodpet.

The brand

Help your next landlord
get to know your pet.

Finding a home with a pet can mean having to explain the same things again and again. Nodpet helps renters bring that information together and back it up.

We create pet profiles with checked documents, training certificates and rental history, so landlords and letting agents have more to go on when considering a request.

We start with UK renters looking for a home with their pet. Our job is to help them make a stronger case, while giving landlords a clear view of the evidence.

On the renter’s side.

Understand the frustration. Give people useful help and a sensible next step.

Careful with the facts.

Show what has been checked. Make missing information clear. Never promise approval.

Open to everyone.

A first flat and a larger home deserve the same care. Good design should make things easier.

Our personality

Warm. Direct. Confident.
With a little dry humour.

SVG scales cleanly. PNG is transparent. PDF is for print artwork.

Wordmark with clear space

Leave space around it.

At least one quarter of the wordmark’s height on each side. Standard downloads include this margin.

Check it at actual size.

Start with these minimum screen sizes. Use the favicon files for smaller browser tabs.

White wordmark on teal

Keep the shape intact.

No stretching, outlines or shadows. Don’t retype the name or recolour individual letters. Keep headlines separate.

Colour

Cool foundations.
A warm accent.

White keeps things clear. Mist and warm give information a place. Two teals provide structure, with marigold for emphasis.

Two teals, two jobs.

Brand teal belongs in the logo, hero sections, print and large graphic areas. Night teal handles text, navigation, icons and functional detail. Keep one teal per small element.

Marigold gets attention.

Use it for the main action, a highlight or a celebratory detail. Set its labels in night teal. Verification and approval states use their own colours.

Give each audience room.

Renter screens carry a soft warm tint; landlord screens and certificates lean mist. White ties them together. Use warm as a wash or an accent, not as a flat fill behind a whole screen.

In the product

Same brand.
Different context.

Keep the surface white and let a tint set the context: warm for renters, mist for landlords. Use one main action; secondary actions sit quietly beside it, with a night teal label and a simple border.

The interface example uses fictional profile details.

Text and backgrounds

Use night teal on light surfaces and marigold. Use white on the teals. Marigold can highlight words on a dark teal background. Never use white on marigold or marigold text on white.

Product status

Colour supports
the message.

A verified document and an approved pet request are different events. State exactly what happened and who confirmed it.

Keep these colours inside the product. Product screenshots retain them when used in marketing.

60 / 30 / 10 is a starting point for brand compositions: light surfaces, teals, marigold. Product screens and documents can be much lighter. Use marigold where it helps the reader find the next step.

Typography

Manrope.

One family for headings, body copy and interfaces. Its open shapes keep the writing approachable; the heavier weights give it confidence.

Sentence case. Short enough to read in one breath. Let the layout set the size.

Subheadings20–28 px / 600

Name the topic clearly. Give each section a useful point of entry.

Body copy16–18 px / 400

Line height around 1.6. Keep paragraphs narrow enough to read comfortably.

Labels14 px / 600

Use readable labels on small screens. Reserve small uppercase text for short wayfinding.

Voice

Clear words.
A human voice.

Sound like someone who understands the situation and knows how to help. Be warm, specific and straightforward.

How we introduce Nodpet

Help your next landlord
get to know your pet.

Build a pet profile with documents, training certificates and rental history. Our team checks the information, so you can share it with more confidence.

Say what we mean.

“We’ve contacted the training provider” is more useful than “Your trust journey is progressing”. Explain the action and what happens next.

Recognise the situation.

Finding a home can be stressful. Be considerate without pretending to know exactly how someone feels.

Keep the humour dry.

“Excellent tenant. Terrible at opening doors.” A little observation goes further than pet puns in every sentence.

British English

Use “renter”, “landlord” and “letting agent”. Write “colour” and “organise”. Explain unfamiliar terms the first time they appear.

Evidence, accurately described

A certificate confirms the check it records. A rating reflects the points earned through verification milestones. Neither promises future behaviour or a landlord’s approval.

Serious moments stay clear

No jokes in payment problems, verification decisions or complaints. State the issue, explain the options and give the person a next step.

Photography

Pets with a life
around them.

Show character through real moments: a favourite spot, a familiar room, an ordinary day. Include cats as well as dogs.

Two young dogs sitting together outdoors
Natural light. Real expressions.
A cat looking towards the camera
Give different pets a place in the story.

Keep the setting believable.

Use recognisable homes and lived-in details. Avoid overly staged scenes and unrealistic luxury interiors.

Let the pet keep its colour.

Use teal or mist for cut-out portraits. Keep natural backgrounds in lifestyle photos. Don’t put golden fur on marigold.

Tell real stories honestly.

Get permission before featuring customers. Never turn a stock image into a customer testimonial. Label fictional profile examples.

PNG logos have transparent backgrounds. White artwork is intended for dark backgrounds and may appear blank on a white page. PDF logos contain RGB vector artwork; proof the colour with your printer for the material and process being used.

The SVG lettering is outlined. Manrope is provided under the SIL Open Font License, included with the files. Photography references and their source links are listed in image credits.
