# Nodpet brand guidelines

## The brand

Help your next landlord get to know your pet.

Nodpet helps UK renters build a pet profile with documents, training certificates and rental history. Our team checks the information, so renters can share it with more confidence. Landlords and letting agents get a clear view of the evidence when considering a request.

We are warm, direct and confident, with a little dry humour. We are on the renter’s side, careful with the facts and accessible to everyone. Our design should be considered and easy to use.

## Logo

Use the supplied wordmark. The dog silhouette is part of the letter o. Use the matching icon in compact spaces such as avatars and browser tabs.

- Leave at least one quarter of the wordmark’s height clear on each side. Standard downloads include this margin.
- Minimum screen sizes: 160 px for the wordmark; 24 px for the icon. Use the provided favicon files for smaller browser tabs.
- Use brand teal, night teal, white or black artwork. Keep the entire mark one colour.
- Never stretch, outline, add shadows, retype the name or recolour individual letters. Keep headlines separate from the logo.
- SVG scales cleanly. PNG has a transparent background. PDF contains RGB vector artwork; proof print colour with your printer.

## Colour

| Colour | HEX | Role |
| --- | --- | --- |
| White | #FFFFFF | Main background |
| Mist | #E4F1F3 | Cool surfaces, landlord screens, certificate areas |
| Warm | #FFF0D6 | Warm accents and small surfaces. On large areas use it as a soft tint or wash rather than a flat fill |
| Brand teal | #073D4A | Logo, hero sections, print, large graphic areas |
| Night teal | #02262E | Text, navigation, controls, icons |
| Marigold | #FFB22E | Primary actions, emphasis, celebratory details |

Two teals, two jobs. Keep one teal per small element. Set text in night teal on white, mist, warm and marigold. Use white on teal backgrounds; marigold can provide emphasis on dark teal. Never set white text on marigold or marigold text on white.

Use marigold for the main action and restrained highlights. Use a simple night teal outline for secondary actions. Marigold does not indicate a verification, pending, warning or error state.

Renter screens carry a soft warm tint; landlord screens and certificates lean mist. White ties them together. Choose surfaces for the content rather than colouring every screen.

For brand compositions, start with approximately 60% light surfaces, 30% teals and 10% marigold. This is a guide, not a quota. Product screens and documents can use more white.

### Text contrast

| Pairing | Ratio |
| --- | --- |
| Night teal / white | 15.92:1 |
| Night teal / marigold | 8.84:1 |
| White / brand teal | 11.83:1 |
| Night teal / mist | 13.78:1 |
| Night teal / warm | 14.16:1 |
| Marigold / brand teal | 6.57:1 |

Ratios apply to the specified solid colours. Transparency, photographs and gradients change the result.

### Product status

| State | Solid | Chip background | Chip text |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Verified / approved | #137F55 | #E1F2EA | #0D5A3C |
| Pending / awaiting | #2F5575 | #E3ECF5 | #2F5575 |
| Declined / error | #A3312A | #FBE7E5 | #A3312A |

Colour supports a written label and icon. A verified document and an approved pet request are different events: say exactly what happened and who confirmed it. Keep status colours inside the product; product screenshots retain them when used in marketing.

## Typography

Manrope is the brand typeface for headings, body copy and interfaces. Use regular 400, medium 500, semibold 600 and bold 700.

- Headlines: 32–64 px, bold, sentence case, line height around 1.15–1.2.
- Subheadings: 20–28 px, semibold.
- Body: 16–18 px, regular, line height around 1.6.
- Labels: 14 px, semibold. Small uppercase text is for brief wayfinding only.

Use shorter line lengths and generous spacing. On mobile, resize headings and stack content; keep body copy legible. Use Arial or a system sans-serif as a fallback when Manrope is unavailable. The supplied Manrope desktop and web fonts use the SIL Open Font License; keep the licence with redistributed font files.

## Voice

Sound like someone who understands the situation and knows how to help. Be warm, specific and straightforward. Use British English: renter, landlord, letting agent, colour, organise.

### Introduction

Help your next landlord get to know your pet.

Build a pet profile with documents, training certificates and rental history. Our team checks the information, so you can share it with more confidence.

### Writing principles

Say what we mean. “We’ve contacted the training provider” is useful because it explains the action. Avoid vague phrases such as “Your trust journey is progressing”.

Recognise the situation. Finding a home can be stressful. Be considerate without pretending to know exactly how someone feels.

Keep humour dry and occasional. “Excellent tenant. Terrible at opening doors.” No jokes in payment problems, verification decisions or complaints. Give the person a clear next step.

### Product examples

**Add a training certificate**
Upload a clear copy showing your pet’s name, the provider and the date. Our team will contact the provider to check the details.

**Training certificate verified**
We’ve checked this certificate with the training provider. It now appears as verified on your pet’s profile.

**We’re waiting for your landlord’s reply**
We’ve contacted your previous landlord for a reference. We’ll let you know when they respond.

**A clearer picture of the pet**
See the documents and rental history shared by the renter, with a clear record of what Nodpet has verified. You can review the information before making your decision.

### Evidence and ratings

Describe the specific check performed. A certificate confirms the check it records. A rating reflects points earned through verification milestones. Neither promises future behaviour or a landlord’s approval. Explain missing information clearly. Use the actual product’s scoring criteria when discussing a rating; do not invent thresholds or describe a pet as risk-free.

## Photography

Show character through real moments: a favourite spot, a familiar room, an ordinary day. Use natural light and believable settings. Include cats as well as dogs. Avoid overly staged scenes and unrealistic luxury interiors.

Use teal or mist behind cut-out portraits. Keep natural backgrounds in lifestyle photos. Do not put golden fur on marigold; use marigold for a restrained frame or surrounding accent instead.

Get permission before featuring customers. Never turn a stock photo into a customer testimonial. Label fictional profiles. The photography in this guide illustrates art direction and is not a customer story; sources are in image-credits.txt.

## Social

Lead with practical help. Add real renting experiences and short demonstrations of what Nodpet does. Each post should offer one useful idea: a checklist, a real experience or a feature explained.

Keep type, colours and voice consistent. Change the composition to fit the story; every post does not need the same border or footer. Choose a clear reading order, leave breathing room and check the design at phone size. Add image descriptions and captions to video.

Useful subjects include preparing a pet profile, gathering rental references and how a training certificate is checked. When discussing renting rules, name the UK nation the guidance applies to and check it before publishing.

## Files

The hub includes outlined wordmarks, icons, avatars and favicons; transparent PNGs; vector SVGs and PDFs; Manrope desktop and web fonts; CSS and JSON colour values. The wordmark lettering is outlined and requires no installed font. Extract the whole folder and open index.html to use the offline guide.
